The EU Commission announced in 2017 its intention to analyze and prepare policy options to address the Interface between chemical, product and waste legislation. After publishing the results of its work in this area, the Commission circulated a questionnaire among stakeholders in view of the public consultation.

EFIC highlights that REACH should continue its work on the restriction of substances of concern at the EU and horizontal level. Harmonization of requirements at the product level could particularly support this goal. Rules on substances of concern should also apply horizontally to all goods, both produced in the EU and imported to the EU.
