"EFIC, the European Furniture Industries' Confederation, was founded in 2006 and represents the European furniture industries. The furniture industry is an important sector in the EU since it employs about 1.5 million workers in close to 150.000 companies.

The aim of the confederation is to duly represent the furniture manufacturers with European bodies such as the Commission, the Council and the European Parliament.

EFIC gives a crucial role to the national federations, as these have the necessary knowledge about all day-to-day developments in the furniture industries in their countries.
The EFIC General Assembly will establish common views on European matters. These clear and transparent positions will consequently be defended by EFIC and its member federations at all relevant levels.

The day-to-day management of EFIC is assured by the secretariat in Brussels. A Board and a General Assembly monitor this work."
